Hydrofera Blue READY® Tube Site Dressing (TSD)

With its intuitive shape and specialized keyhole opening, the Hydrofera Blue READY® Tube Site Dressing (TSD) allows for precise placement and ease of application around tracheostomy tubes and other tubing.

This polyurethane foam dressing absorbs and retains exudate within the dressing, without the need for hydration, and is proven effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria and yeast commonly found in wounds⁵.

Hydrofera Blue READY^® Tube Site Dressings (TSD) come sterile, pre-cut with the specialized keyhole opening, individually wrapped, and ready to be used. They are intended for use around tracheostomy tubes, drains, and other tubing sites, such as suprapubic catheters, peg tubes, Peritoneal Dialysis sites, Gastrostomy tube sites, LVADs, and Orthopedic pin sites.

The polyurethane foam manages absorption of secretions and effectively absorbs bacteria-laden exudate away from the wound site. The waterproof and breathable film backing eliminates the need for a secondary dressing, while also protecting the wound from external elements.

Safe, non-cytotoxic.⁴ No hydration required. Can be worn up to seven days,⁶ or as clinical conditions allow.

The outer film backing provides protection from external elements and simplifies the application process by eliminating the need for a secondary dressing. It is also semi-permeable and breathable to allow moisture vapor transmission.

No Hydration Required

Designed to be more user-friendly by being pre-moistened and ready to use, the dressing can be applied directly to the wound without the need for hydration.

Preparation

Prepare the tube entry site by thoroughly cleansing the area, per your facility’s protocol. Carefully remove any dried secretions or debris from the area.

Application

Gently open the sterile Hydrofera Blue READY^® Tube Site Dressing package. Apply the dressing to fit securely around the drain tube, with the writing on the film side facing away from the patient’s skin.

Secure

If fixation is needed, tape and secure it down. The tape should only be applied to the edges of the dressing. No secondary dressing is needed. Be careful not to apply too much pressure.

Dressing Changes

Regularly monitor the site. Ensure dressing changes every 7 days or more frequently if required by the physician. If the dressing retained its blue color where it had been in contact with the wound, the new dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days. If the dressing turned white or lightened in color, continue daily dressing changes until the blue color is retained.
